Who we are

Pick a Good Name is an independent project that offers free online name generators. We build simple tools for one of the most common creative problems: finding a good name. Whether you are starting a business, welcoming a baby, adopting a pet, picking a gamertag or naming a group chat, our tools give you fresh ideas to start from.

Why we built it

A name is the first thing people notice. A good one is short, easy to say and spell, and fits the personality of what it names. Many name tools are slow, ask you to sign up, or return long lists that all sound the same. We wanted a tool that is fast, clear and useful on a small screen, and that also works in Urdu and Hindi, not only in English.

How our tools work

You describe what you are naming and choose a style. The tool then asks an AI language model to suggest names that match. The result is a list of ideas, often with a short note explaining each one. Your own saved favorites stay in your browser.

The suggestions are ideas, not facts. The tool cannot check live availability of domains, social handles, game accounts or trademarks, so please verify these yourself before you use a name. Our Terms and Disclaimer explain this in more detail.

Languages
